Liverpool World Museum Visit
Year 3 are a studying Ancient Egypt this term. In September we visited the Liverpool World Museum to see their Egyptian exhibits. We handled original Egyptian artifacts - some 5000 years old!! - and learned about the wild life and habitat along the River Nile. Looking at the mummies was really interesting.
Some of us also took the chance to look at the dinosaurs in the museum as we have been learning about fossils in science.
As part of learning about Ancient Egypt we looked at how mummies are made. We made our Egyptian amulets out of clay, wrote our own book of the dead scroll and finally practiced our mummification skills on our teddies from home.
In year three we enjoy mastering maths. Using concrete resources helps our understanding of maths before we work on paper.
