Our Lady's Catholic Academy is proud to be part of the Better Together project, funded by DfE, which ensures safeguarding for all pupils is robust. Both the Headteacher and Home School Link Worker meet with the school's social worker (Lucy Palmer) every few weeks to discuss;

- training needs of staff at all levels

- learning opportunities available for pupils in light of the changing needs of the local area

- school specific issues and concerns

The excellent relationships between home and school, which are at the heart of Our Lady's Catholic Academy, ensure that the channels of communication are always open between parents and staff.

Parents should be aware that the school will take any reasonable action to ensure the safety of its pupils. School staff will always contact parents if they are concerned about a pupil's well being.  In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff have no alternative but to follow procedures and inform Children's Services of their concerns.

If a parent has a concern about any issue relating to safeguarding they can speak to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or refer into Children's Services 01782 235100
